The novel is a warning of the dangers that such powers pose, as—through the story—H.G. Wells poses that most would abuse it. I wanted the cover to be stark and unnerving, as well as for it to include a visual nod to the bandage-wrapped Griffin himself. The missing character in the title completes the hook.
